This is a QUICK RELEASE  shoulder strap ("collar") that is wrapped over the shoulders, then forward in front of the chest and then wrapped behind one front leg to reconnect at the shoulders. This design is usually used for dogs that have experienced trauma to the throat or neck.  This design does work well to manage small to large dogs with ease. To use this design it is important to place the black box mouth facing forward to the front of the dog so that the "collar" drops down and away from the dogs body rather than having the "collar" cross up and over the shoulders after the realease. The shoulder strap comes with a simple non-padded neoprene cover to reduce friction of the biothane collar against the dogs body while being released.
